I was on the side of the hooligans, I’m afraid, when they invaded the pitch during West Ham’s defeat at home vs Burnley, and chased the owners out of the directors’ box. One of the protesters’ banners says it all:

When you tear the social heart out of a community, and sell it on the capitalist market as if it were a mere commodity, this is what you get. The sad story of the Irons over the last few years should serve as a metaphor and a warning of what late-stage capitalism is doing to Britain generally.
