Boris’s Next Move

I’m sure this has occurred to many others; but what’s the chance of Johnson defecting to Reform UK to become its leader – and then possibly a second-term  prime minister – after Musk’s ditching of Farage?

It looks as though Farage will fight any attempt by Musk to oust him and as has been pointed out, he owns more than 50% of the shares in Reform Party UK Ltd. He also has more of a political following in the UK than Musk (at least to date) so it will be interesting to see the outcome.

At least Musk has deep enough pockets to pay for Boris’s outgoings, and Boris is certainly doing his personal best to avoid any “great replacement”. Don’t forget that Boris is US-born so he may yet have a career stateside… I’m only joking (I hope).

Meanwhile it looks as though we are on the verge of a new era of resource imperialism, if it hasn’t already started. Interesting times.

Hello Bernard, Well anything can happen – but….remember that Reform is not a political party – it is a limited company run by Farage, who is the sole shareholder and owner. He isn’t likely to give up all the cash he has earned to anyone, even to Boris…. Reform – strictly – has no “members” only registered voters who have paid Farage a £25 fee…..there is no structure or process. He is a charlatan and a chancer. Keep warm, take care John Evans

Johnson strikes me as an elitist and a racist of the old Tory school, but he’s not far enough Right for Reform UK (he’s barely right-wing enough for Badenoch’s Tory Party). Musk is, if anything, further Right again; he’d rather see Stephen Yaxley-Lennon leading Reform UK than Farage. (Johnson, like Farage, would rather see the revolting Yaxley-Lennon behind bars).
